E-85 Karts, Better Than Electric
Most people believe that electric cars and electric go-karts are the best for the environment, but that is not the case. The performance and environmental footprint of E-85 powered vehicles are significantly better compared to their electric counterparts.
What is E-85? E-85 stands for Ethanol-85. Ethanol is an alcohol produced from plants, like corn. This sustainable energy source, a bio-fuel that is a blend of 85% ethanol and 15% gasoline is therefore 85% renewable. Need more fuel? Grow more corn. With this blend, gasoline use is drastically reduced and the subsequent reliance on crude oil, which leads to lower emissions of petroleum-based air pollutants.
Electric vehicles, on the other hand, are not the most environmentally friendly way to go. Electric vehicles require huge sources of external electricity in order to charge the array of on-board batteries they carry. And what happens to those lead-acid batteries after they are used up? More often than not, they end up in a land-fill; not to mention the damage done while they are being produced. Definitely not good for the environment. Today, 61% of California’s electricity is generated by burning coal and natural gas, which are both non-renewable source of energy. Coal and natural gas burning produces significantly more greenhouse gas versus E-85, which is obviously not as good for the overall environment.
Lower carbon footprint, better usable power, better handling and significantly longer run times — E-85-powered vehicles not only provides the better driving experience, they are ultimately ‘greener’ than their electric-motored counterparts. Go green… go E-85!
